It is with a great deal of pleasure and delight that we wanted to drop you a line. Shannon and I have just reached our two year anniversary of our wedding in Aspen on July 23rd, 2007. You created a wonderful cake for us and our wedding reception at the sky hotel. I don't know if you remember (you do so much fabulous work), but we wanted something small, and elegant. We remember you talking about the cake you created for Kate Hudson, and were glad you were able to see our vision. At any rate, we wanted a two layer cake (trying to work within a budget), but ultimately you created an unbelievable three layer cake for us because you felt it would just simply look better. We were so grateful and remember at the time that it was the best cake we have ever had. You also created some cupcakes for the kids that were a huge hit.
Well, long story short, our family returned to aspen this summer (missed last year due to a remodel). Two years ago Shannon had painstakingly wrapped up the top layer of the cake two years ago, Saran Wrap, followed by foil, followed by a freezer bag and carefully placed it in the freezer. We bought champagne and to celebrate our two year anniversary we unwrapped the cake and sat down with our family of six and grandparents. We figured it would be a lovely evening, however what we didn't expect was that the cake would be UNBELIEVABLY, ALMOST SINFULLY, GREAT. We cannot really gush too eloquently- It was amazing. Flavorful, rich, creamy, reallly really fantastic. Two years later some of the best cake we have ever been fortunate enough to share with our family.
So, that is our story. We look forward to building new memories and feel so fortunate to have united our families in Aspen. Because with that we were able to enjoy your elegance and mastery, and your ability to make our small aspen celebration feel so very special, as special as any star's or celebrities wedding.
